Philadelphia Union Senior Graphic Designer

The Senior Graphic Designer is a key individual contributor on the Philadelphia Union's creative team, responsible for developing compelling, brand-forward creative across the Philadelphia Union and Union Sports & Entertainment portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Creative Director, this position will independently concept, design, and execute creative across digital, social, print, advertising, ticket sales, corporate partnerships, events, merchandise, and other organizational initiatives. The Senior Graphic Designer will balance high-level creative thinking with hands-on execution, translating business and marketing objectives into engaging visual storytelling that strengthens the Philadelphia Union brand.

This role requires a highly skilled designer who can take ownership of projects from concept through final delivery, manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and consistently produce high-quality work in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior individual contributor within the creative team, taking ownership of assigned projects from initial concept through final execution.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand project objectives, recommend creative solutions, and translate business needs into effective visual communications.
• Work closely with the Senior Creative Director and other creative team members to maintain a cohesive visual identity across platforms and campaigns.
• Independently manage multiple projects and competing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of creative quality.
• Present and articulate creative concepts, recommendations, and design rationale to internal stakeholders.
• Incorporate feedback while applying strong creative judgment to maintain brand integrity and design quality.
• Review and proof creative materials for accuracy, brand consistency, and production quality prior to delivery.
• Coordinate with outside vendors, printers, and production partners as needed to ensure accurate execution of creative materials.
• Maintain organized project files, templates, and creative assets to support efficient team workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably within sports, entertainment, media, agency, or another fast-paced consumer brand environment.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated design execution, conceptual thinking, visual storytelling, typography, layout, branding, and digital design.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage creative projects from concept through final production.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, composition, color, and brand systems.
• Experience designing for both digital and print applications, including knowledge of production requirements and file preparation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across departments.
• Ability to receive and incorporate feedback while confidently providing creative recommendations.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, polished, and high-quality work.
• Creative, proactive, collaborative, and comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
