Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Machine Operators for a leading machine manufacturing company located in Alexandria, MN. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and want reliable hours with weekly pay, this job could be a great fit. Read below for more information!

What You'll Do as a Machine Operator:

• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine operating requirements
• Mount work piece between center in chuck or in collet
• Press buttons, toggles, and start machining operation
• Observe displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments
• Perform spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications per instruction on in-process
• Operate an additional machine during computer-controlled machining cycles
• Machine metallic and nonmetallic materials
• Mark and/or tag nonconforming material and place them in nonconforming hold designated areas
• Tag and/or mark completed material and move product to appropriate areas
• Watch and check coolant fluid levels during machine operation

What You Need to Bring to the Machine Operator Role:

• High school diploma or GED + 13 months of related experience and/or on the job training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
• Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
