Description Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. This position is part-time and will work 8‑hour, variable shifts. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high‑complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. CLS personnel perform pre‑analytical, analytical, and post‑analytical duties, including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance, and problem resolution. They often collaborate with acute‑care and outpatient caregivers, as well as other Laboratory Services staff. Providence caregivers are not just valued – they’re invaluable. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Coursework/Training: 16 semesters or equivalent quarter units of chemistry, including clinical chemistry or analytical chemistry. Coursework/Training: 18 semesters or equivalent quarter units of biology, including hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology. Coursework/Training: 3 semesters or equivalent quarter units of physics (light and electricity). Obtaining a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License upon hire. 1 year internship (prerequisite for the State Exam). Preferred Qualifications 2 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital setting. Why Join Providence?
