Kennel Assistant - Part Time

SUMMARY: We are looking for a reliable, team-oriented individual to join our kennel staff. This role involves daily animal care, cleaning, customer interaction, and participation in playgroups. Candidates should be comfortable working hands-on with animals and maintaining a clean environment.

SCHEDULE: Part-time (12–25 hours per week), typically 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., including weekends, with potential for full-time in the future. This role may be filled as a morning cleaning shift or as a weekend-only part-time position, with weekend hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.

COMPENSATION: $15/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Animal Care: Clean kennels and animal areas daily, feed animals, and monitor overall health.
• Playgroups & Enrichment: Assist with daily dog playgroups, including grouping, supervising, and noting behavior.
• Support: Move animals as needed, provide enrichment, collect samples when required, and enter data accurately.
• Communication: Work as a team and communicate clearly about animal care and needs.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Reliable attendance and punctuality Customer service experience preferred Basic computer skills Ability to work well in a team and adapt as needed Able to lift up to 40 lbs and handle the physical and emotional aspects of shelter work Must be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals, including bleach
