TIG Welder

Routine Welding TechnicianPerform routine welding work on HVAC units according to blueprints, company standards and applicable standards to meet inspection criteria in accordance with defined requirements.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecutes routine welding tasks on HVAC units.Ability to set up and maintain welding machine (tip, liner, changes, etc.) and weld vertical, horizontal, and overhead.Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter.Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required.Grind and clean areas where required.Stay current in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed.Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures.Education and Experience RequirementsHighschool diploma or GED preferred.1-3 years' experience as a welder.Prior work experience with Lean Manufacturing processes preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWelding Certifications preferred but not requiredAbility to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.Ability to read and understand blueprints, as well as weld symbols.Process knowledge and experience to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines.Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.Ability to work in a team environment.Must be able to pass the required welding certification test.Work Environment and Physical RequirementsFrequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.Ability to stand comfortably for prolonged periods of time, as much as 95% of the workday.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Disclaimer: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
