Electrical Instrumentation Technician

Job TitleIn this position you will be trained to perform electrical system modifications on military aircraft.Job DescriptionThe immediate need will be as a member of our T6 modification team, however other airframes and modifications may be added as the opportunities arise. The ideal person for this role would have outstanding work ethic, attention to detail, and integrity. They would be self-motivated and once fully trained, be able to work with minimal supervision and oversight. They would also be familiar with basic mechanical skills, hand and power tools, electrical test, inspection, and measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment. The items mentioned below provide a synopsis of many of the duties and responsibilities an employee would be trained to perform:This position is 100% travelPerform on-aircraft modifications, Time-Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), component and harness installation/removal, operational checkouts, and prototype and trial vehicle installations (TVI)Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project ManagerFollow engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawingsPerform moderately complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment (OJT)Perform and inspect wire terminations, wire harness assembly, harness routing, and component installation/removal (OJT)Produce and inspect assemblies that conform to customer product specifications (OJT)Assemble, test, and/or solders as required per customer and/or industry standards (OJT)Perform electrical, operational, and functional checkout of aircraft components and systems (OJT)Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing (OJT)Establish, organize & maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property (OJT)Train and assist other technicians on techniques and procedures (OJT)Modify aircraft and equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as per predetermined processes (OJT)Maintain high ethical/professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times (OJT)Participate in test or project events as assignedObserve all safety rules and regulationsMaintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free/clean work areaWork unsupervised at timesReport status and resultsOther duties as assignedRequirementsEducation/Training (both required and desired):High School diploma requiredAssociate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline desiredIPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification desiredExperience:3+ years of professional experience in the required task area requiredUS Military Aircraft Maintenance and/or wiring experience requiredKnowledgeable on wiring diagrams/schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and printsAble to use various hand tools, crimping tools, soldering equipment, and machineryImpeccable organizational skills and attention to detail requiredBasic understanding of electrical circuits requiredWire Termination experience desiredKnowledge of cable assembly procedures desiredAbility to communicate clearly and effectively requiredBasic knowledge or understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 desiredCapable of standing for long periods of timeAble to work cross functionally in other areas as neededFrequent and extended duration travel requiredSecurity:Must be a US citizenAbility to obtain a security clearance may be requiredPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of standing and walking, able to bend, stretch, work with hands, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machineryMust be able to visually inspect machinesMust be able to wear required safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirator as neededMust be able to regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 poundsBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Short Term & Long Term DisabilityTraining & DevelopmentWellness Resources
