Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist Locum Tenens

Location: Northern New Jersey

Schedule: MondayFriday 8 AM 5 PM

Assignment Type: Locum Tenens

A well-established hospital system in Northern New Jersey is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Adult Psychiatrist for an inpatient psychiatry locum opportunity supporting a collaborative behavioral health team.

This opportunity offers a structured weekday schedule, strong physician support, and no overnight call responsibilities due to an established nocturnist program.

Position Highlights:

MondayFriday daytime schedule
No overnight call
Weekend rounding only 1 weekend/month
Collaborative physician-led environment
Inpatient adult psychiatry coverage
Consultation liaison exposure available
Strong APP and interdisciplinary support
Average daily census of approximately 1214 patients

Responsibilities:

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult psychiatric inpatients
Manage complex psychiatric conditions
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
Provide discharge planning and care coordination
Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and behavioral health teams
Assist with consultation liaison psychiatry coverage as needed

Candidate Requiremts:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active NJ license preferred
Prior inpatient psychiatry experience strongly preferred
Comfortable in collaborative, high-volume settings
