Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Work under the guidance of Waltonen Chief Engineer
- Develop designs for subsystems, components, and mounting provisions for various devices.
- Design subsystems and components related to hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, shock isolation to meet vehicle requirements
- Perform analysis of design and be able to apply engineering judgment in material selection, welding, and fabrication for mechanical components and complex welded brackets, mounting provisions
- Create drawing mark-ups, conduct tolerance stack analysis, and generate source data for engineering changes
- Provide technical support during prototype and production vehicle builds
- Work closely with Waltonen’s Design & Engineering teams to create impactful solutions for military vehicles
- Leverage expertise to enhance vehicle performance, durability, and safety in defense applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, and shock isolation
- Experience with design, integration, and analysis of mechanical components and mechanisms
- Understanding of the mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication methods for mechanical components and complex welded structures
- Solid understanding of CAD software
- Only United States Citizens can be considered
- Must possess or be able to obtain security clearance
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in vehicle components and/or systems engineering.
- Familiarity with NX or Creo 3D CAD Software
- Knowledge of Teamcenter
- Proficiency with VisMockup
- Experience with defense/military vehicles (highly preferred).
