HSE Manager

Job Responsibilities Lead corporate and regulatory health, safety and environmental initiatives and processes at the assigned location to reduce injury, ensure compliance and minimize company exposure. Supervise and provide daily direction to one salaried HSE specialist and one non‑desk HSE worker. Drive employee engagement and accountability at all site levels to promote a culture of zero injuries. Develop, implement, train, and maintain facility policies, programs, and procedures to reduce injury, minimize exposure, and comply with the corporate HSE management system and all applicable HSE regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.). Ensure ongoing compliance with all environmental permits, regulations, and reporting requirements for air, water, and waste. Maintain ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018 certifications. Partner with the Quality Department for an integrated management system. Provide timely and accurate reporting of all corporate HSE metrics and data requests. Provide hands‑on support in process implementation, behavioral safety, corporate mandates, and regulatory interpretation. Drive incident reporting to ensure investigation, corrective action, and best practice sharing. Conduct and assist with internal and external HSE audits and regulatory agency inspections as required. Support development and review of facility‑specific HSE training needs, operational reviews, and new installation assessments. Participate in key HSE team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events, and other meetings where HSE representation is requested. Serve as region representative to cross‑regional forums for best practice sharing and knowledge exchange. Participate in additional HSE initiatives as assigned by the NA HSE Department or Facility Leader. Education Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, engineering or other related field. Direct experience and time in an HSE role may be used as a substitute for a degree. Qualifications and Experience 3+ years of direct experience with OSHA compliance, behavior‑based safety, root‑cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedure development, auditing, and training. Demonstrated passion for safety and environmental excellence. Knowledge of workers’ compensation regulations. Experience with environmental permit compliance and waste management. Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO14001:2015 & ISO45001:2018). Experience with a manufacturing site is a plus. Strong organizational and planning skills. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with technology such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other standard computer applications. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels in the organization. Location & Travel This is an on‑site role (not remote or hybrid). Able to travel periodically for meetings and participation in other site audits.
