Distribution Engineering SupervisorThe Engineering Supervisor (ES) is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the Savannah, Statesboro, or Springfield Engineering Team. The successful candidate must live within commutable distance to either the Savannah, Statesboro, or Springfield Operating Headquarters.Please note that this job will require up to 25% travel. Relocation benefits may be available.The Engineering Supervisor (ES) will lead the engineering team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on learning how to work safely and how engineering decisions impact the safety of peers and coworkers. The ES will work to build a culture where team members feel included, valued, and free to speak up. The ES is responsible for ensuring the development of team members, communicating business goals to the team, and providing performance management to the team. The ES will provide leadership and guidance for planning, engineering, design, and construction of all activities in the area and will help monitor and guide area-wide Distribution functional budgets, compliance, and system maintenance to ensure reliability. This includes investigating extended or significant outages as well as timely addressing customer issues that arise. The ES will provide guidance to the team in dealing with customer issues (internal and external) and will communicate with upper management about customer issues. This position will work closely with the other functional departments in the area to deliver best in class, customer value, reliability and cost as well as supporting external community activities. The ES will also serve in various SERP roles within the area and will be required to participate in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as required.Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred.Proven commitment and demonstrated focus on Safety.A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience with full performance management responsibilities is required.A minimum of 5 years of Distribution and/or Transmission experience is preferred.Proven record of dealing effectively with customers is preferred.Cross-functional, cross-company experience is a plus.Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is preferred.Experience with storm response and planning is preferred.Experience with distribution software and support applications is a plus.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and writtenArticulates complex issues, simplyLeads change effectivelyKnowledge of Power Delivery operations and processes preferredKnowledge of Distribution operations practices and procedures preferredAbility to build strong relationships and a strong teamDemonstrated ability to recognize high profile opportunities and respond as needed without promptingCandidate shall demonstrate a commitment to Our Values (Safety First, Intentional Inclusion, Superior Performance, and Total Commitment).Decisive and show initiative to resolve issues and challenges.Maintain a positive attitude.Demonstrate ability to think strategically and innovatively, while helping direct reports develop and do the same.Foster effective relationships and establish trust with teammates and customers.Be self-motivated and able to motivate others with a proven record of responsible behavior.Demonstrate experience developing and fostering a work environment where employees feel included, valued, and free to speak up.Show the skill of building an environment of trust where employees can develop and continuously improve.Be able to maximize team effectiveness, set high team expectations, and hold employees accountable for those expectations.Take personal ownership of their responsibilities, hold themself accountable for performance at a high level and be a self-starter.Be a team player who seeks the greater good for the company.Be able to adapt to changing demands.Communicate candidly and transparently.Valid Driver's License.Travel is sometimes required, up to 25% of the time.Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance to Savannah/Statesboro/SpringfieldThis position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver's license).Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record
