Travel GI/Endoscopy

American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Technician for an outpatient endoscopy center, requiring BLS certification and Endo Tech certification if applicable.

Job Details

• Outpatient Endoscopy center setting,
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM,
• 10-week assignment length,
• 1:1 patient ratio,
• Procedures include colonoscopy and EGD,
• Equipment used includes dilators, endoscopes, ERBE electrical coagulation instrument, polyp snares, and washer/sterilizer,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required,
• BLS certification required,
• Endo Tech certification required, if applicable,
• CA state license required,
• Skilled in procedural assistance including biopsy assistance, procedure set up, room turnover, and end-of-day closing,
• Experience cleaning and caring for colonoscopes, EGD scopes, and endoscopic ultrasound scopes preferred,
• Experience with high-level disinfection (HLD) procedures required,
• Knowledge of infection control and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures required,
• Skilled in specimen handling and labeling, including pathology specimens preferred,
• Experience restocking room and supply room carts,

Additional Information

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with endoscopy procedures for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease,
• Support department functionality through supply distribution, equipment maintenance, decontamination, and setup,
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety,
• Local candidates accepted at local rate,
• 50-mile radius rule applies for travel rate eligibility,
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract,
• Must be available to complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing,
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
