The core mission of the Staff Performance Data Analyst As a Staff Performance Data Analyst, you will be the analytical engine behind our most important client relationships. Your mission is to use data to prove the ROI of our cybersecurity training platform. You will navigate complex datasets using SQL and Python to uncover how our training impacts human risk, then use your storytelling expertise to present these insights to executive‑level stakeholders. Location & Work Mode US (East Coast preferred) Fully Remote The fellowship you’ll be joining This role sits on our Federal Sales team, reporting to our SVP of Global Federal & SLED. The team consists of account executives and collaborates closely with BDRs, Solutions Engineers, and Customer Success. The role works closely with the Data Engineering team. Technology tools & weapons you’ll be using Looker, Excel, Python, SQL, Snowflake The adventures that await you after becoming a Staff Performance Data Analyst at Hack The Box Strategic Client Consultation Partner with stakeholders in Federal agencies to translate their specific security compliance needs into data‑driven success plans. Translate business requirements from senior leadership stakeholders in the USG into technical data solutions. ROI Modeling & Data Storytelling Use Python and SQL to extract and manipulate large datasets, identifying correlations between training engagement and a reduction in security incidents. Creating interactive dashboards and presentations (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to showcase ROI and performance metrics. Ability to create data visualizations for a variety of levels in the USG. Actionable Behavioral Insights Perform deep‑dive analysis on user behavior and simulation logs to identify "high‑risk" cohorts. Provide tailored recommendations to clients on how to optimize their training curriculum based on marketing‑style engagement metrics (open rates, click‑through rates, and completion velocity). Technical Data Integrity Maintain a high standard of data hygiene by auditing the flow of training logs from the platform to the reporting layer. Utilize Excel for rapid prototyping of financial models and ad‑hoc "what‑if" risk analysis for client presentations. Stakeholder & Relationship Management Lead "Executive Business Reviews" (EBRs) where you present the narrative of the client’s security evolution. Collaborate with internal Product and Data Engineering teams to ensure our platform’s telemetry meets the evolving reporting needs of the market. Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role of Staff Performance Data Analyst at Hack The Box Technical Mastery Data Manipulation: Can translate raw data into useful insights for executives; Expert‑level SQL or Snowflake for querying complex relational databases; Experience with Python for data cleaning, automation, and statistical analysis. Visualization: Mastery of Looker, or other visualization tools, to create "at‑a‑glance" executive views and deep‑dive operational reports. Tools: High proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling). Soft Skills & Storytelling Communication: Ability to command a room of Senior Leaders and explain technical data in a clear, persuasive manner. Presentation: Expert at building slide decks that tell a cohesive story—not just showing charts, but explaining what they mean for the mission and risk. Stakeholder Management: Experience managing expectations and navigating the diverse needs of different departments. Domain Expertise Client Success & Marketing: Understanding of churn metrics, adoption rates, engagement funnels, and learning metrics. Industry Context: Familiarity with client success metrics. Familiarity with the ed tech industry is a plus.
