Accounting Manager

Our client, a rapidly expanding healthcare related organization, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a team of three and oversee the critical pillars of the business. This is a player-coach role designed for a reconciliation enthusiast—someone who doesn't just find a variance but digs deep to understand its origin, ensures it is flowing to the correct account, and resolves it at the source. Beyond the daily numbers, you will act as a catalyst for efficiency. The organization has implemented various automation tools that aren't yet being used to their full potential, and they need a leader who thrives on streamlining workflows and maximizing technology. salary: $100,000 - $115,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll accounting processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and payroll-related liabilities.
• Review payroll tax filings, benefits accruals, and retirement plan contributions.
• Support internal and external audits related to payroll.
• Manage capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of fixed assets.
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger.
• Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and accounting standards.
• Oversee daily cash management, bank reconciliations, and reporting.
• Ensure accurate recording of cash transactions, investments, debt, and intercompany financing.
• Review and approve related journal entries and reconciliations.
• Partner with Finance leadership on cash forecasting and capital planning.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff across multiple functional areas.
• Establish performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Identify and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities.
• Ensure adequate internal controls are designed and operating effectively.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned areas.
• Misc. other projects, duties & tasks as needed
