Employee will provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff with an emphasis on quality service and safe care. Employee must be self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work as a team. Employee will be responsible for routine Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging. Prepare, administer and measure radioactive isotopes in diagnostic, some therapeutic, and tracer studies utilizing a variety of radioisotope equipment. Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patient to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under the direction of Radiologist. **Job Functions**Calculate, measure, prepare, and document radiation doses and radiopharmaceuticals using computerized systems in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols\\*.Perform nuclear medicine and PET imaging procedures competently, including the safe administration of radioisotopes\\*.Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot radioisotope and laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance\\*.Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality\\*.Perform daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual quality control (QC) procedures on Nuclear Medicine and PET scanners, dose calibrators, and other departmental equipment\\*.Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, radiation safety standards, and departmental quality assurance (QA) policies. New York State licensure in Nuclear Medicine (NM), Diagnostic Radiography (DX), or Computed Tomography (CT), as applicable. * + **Preferred:** Previous Nuclear Medicine and/or PET experience is preferred; however, new graduates from accredited programs are encouraged to apply * + **Physical Requirements**Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, and lift as required to perform job duties safely. Ability to safely transfer, position, and assist patients with varying levels of mobility.
