In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, enhance, test, and support embedded firmware solutions for Secure Computing products, with a strong focus on Embedded Controller (EC) applications for x86 and Arm-based PC platforms. You will work closely with engineering, validation, marketing, and customer teams to support product deployment, customer onboarding, hardware and system-level integration, troubleshooting, and technical enablement activities. The position also involves delivering technical demonstrations, resolving customer issues through Salesforce, developing application notes and technical collateral, and supporting customers throughout the product adoption lifecycle while working with geographically distributed teams.Responsibilities: Work closely with engineering, validation, marketing, and customer teams to support product deployment, customer onboarding, hardware and system-level integration, troubleshooting, and technical enablement activitiesThe position also involves delivering technical demonstrations, resolving customer issues through Salesforce, developing application notes and technical collateral, and supporting customers throughout the product adoption lifecycle while working with geographically distributed teamsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, enhance, test, and support embedded firmware solutions for Secure Computing products, with a strong focus on Embedded Controller (EC) applications for x86 and Arm-based PC platformsRequirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 2.5+ years of relevant industry experienceExperience in firmware development, testing, deployment, verification, and validation of embedded systems, microprocessors, and microcontrollersStrong programming skills in Embedded C and experience with Python scriptingKnowledge of ARM architecture, Linux environments, and command-line build toolsExperience with embedded debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, debuggers, and protocol analyzersKnowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and similar embedded interfacesExperience with cross-platform development and debugging environmentsGood understanding of both software and hardware electronic conceptsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and debugging skillsSelf-motivated individual contributor with the ability to work proactively in a collaborative environmentStrong teamwork, organization, multitasking, communication, and active listening skillsTechnical writing and editing experience with the ability to create clear engineering documentationExcellent written, proof-reading, and verbal English communication skillsPreferred Qualifications: Experience with Chromium EC firmware and/or Zephyr RTOSHands-on experience with FreeRTOS or Zephyr RTOSKnowledge of basic cryptography and security algorithmsExperience with Azure and IoT platformsKnowledge of MPLAB, Keil IDE, and related toolchainsTravel Time:0% - 25%Physical Attributes:Handling, Hearing, Other, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day; 98% inside, 2% outside, 96% sitting, 2% standing, 2% walkingMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
