Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in the related nursing specialty License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification via AHA required Must-Have: Call requirement Description: The competent nurse in a clinical setting practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care while being able to plan long-range goals. Continues to develop skills to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of relevant competencies. Consistent with the standards of nursing practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments as per appropriate protocol while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers while identifying issues and resources.
