PainterSkilled craft-work preparing and applying paint to exterior and interior surfaces. This entrance level class lies below that of Painter Foreperson.Essential FunctionsPrepares surfaces to be painted by removing dirt, scales, rust, old paint, grease, and other materials.Scrubs, pressure washes, scrapes, and sands surfaces.Applies primers and sizing.Patches drywall, plaster, and other surfaces of furniture, equipment, and the interiors and exteriors of buildings.Mixes, tints, and applies paint to furniture, equipment, and the interiors and exteriors of buildings.Erects and dismantles scaffolding.Cleans and maintains rollers, brushes, and spray guns, and makes minor repairs to equipment and apparatus.Cleans and maintains work area as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.Probation: Six (6) monthsQualificationsOpen Requirements: Must have four (4) years of full-time painting experience using tools and equipment of the painting trade such as spray guns, rollers, brushes, paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, paint removers, airless sprayers, and pressure washers.Promotional Requirements: NALicensing: A valid Florida Driver's License is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.
