Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour and Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Must have a state license in hand Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Previous travel experience required - Long Term Care experience - Alaska Food Worker Certification (to be obtained during orientation) Description: The role requires a Registered Nurse specialized in Long Term Care. Candidates must have previous travel nursing experience. Shifts will be either Days or Nights based on facility needs. Caregivers are not typically asked to rotate between night and day shifts. The patient-to-nurse ratio is expected to be 1:20. All caregivers must obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation. A one-time $10 fee for this certification will be required. LTC experience is essential for this role. There is no on-call requirement for this position. Floating between sister facilities may be necessary to meet staffing needs. Candidates must be open to working during at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. All requests for time off must be submitted upfront with the application. RTO (requested time off) cannot exceed 2 weeks for a 26-week contract. Candidates must have the appropriate skills and experience to be considered for this assignment. Referencing specific patient diagnoses relevant to the Long Term Care specialty is preferred. Additional procedures, such as Accuchecks and wound care, are part of the expected duties. Travelers should be prepared for potential floating within the facility's operational scope.
