Your role will encompass all phases of our production processes, including research and design, manufacturing, installation, and assessment. The ideal candidate will also be skilled at clearly conveying their technical concepts, both visually and verbally.Job DescriptionDevelopment of complex systems with interaction across multiple engineering disciplinesAdvanced knowledge/skills in CAD modeling using a major software package (e.g., SolidWorks, ProE, UG-NX, or CATIA V5)Reading and interpreting engineering specificationsDevelopment and/or editing top level system architectureStructural design, analysis, and optimizationGenerate detailed design and technical drawings of systems, components, and interfacesEngineering support of component manufacturing and build activitiesPresentation of results and recommendations to internal team and external customersExcellent verbal and written communications skillsWork collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplinesExperience in rapid prototyping of electro-mechanical systems from concepts to functional prototypes is a plusTechnical mentorship for new engineersQualificationsBS in engineering required, MS or higher preferredMinimum 5 years of direct engineering experience within the automotive industry and/or engineering servicesFormula SAE Team Lead experience is preferredMust be a generalist with involvement in systems level design and experience working in a cross-functional engineering teamAbility to multi-task and demonstrate attention to quality, timing, awareness of budget constraints, and other program management considerationsAbility to plan, manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering effortsPast experience in a startup/small business environmentStrong ability to connect and communicate with clients and project teams"Get it done" AttitudeAbility to travel as required (less than 10%)Additional InformationBenefits: Company-wide profit sharing, high-quality insurance plans, 401k match, generous paid vacation time, a Monday-Thursday 4/10 work week.* Salary is dependent on experience, knowledge, and interview performance.
