Position Summary

The Retirement Plan Administrator supports the day-to-day operations of a large multiple employer 401(k) plan sponsored through a PEO. This position serves as a primary contact for participating employers, employees, and retirement plan service providers.

Responsibilities include enrollment, payroll contribution oversight, participant transactions, employer onboarding, record maintenance, and coordination with the plan's TPA, 3(16) fiduciary administrator, recordkeeper, and other service providers.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage 401(k) participant eligibility, enrollment, contributions, and plan-related requests.
• Review and process participant and employer documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Support employers with payroll, census data, contributions, and retirement plan administration.
• Research and resolve payroll, eligibility, contribution, and administrative discrepancies.
• Coordinate with recordkeepers, TPAs, fiduciaries, trustees, and other retirement plan service providers.
• Assist with new client onboarding, plan implementation, and ongoing administrative needs.
• Maintain accurate participant and employer records while supporting operational compliance.
• Provide timely, professional customer service to employers, participants, and business partners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years 401(k)/Retirement Plan Administration experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, analytical, organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong math and/or accounting skills.
• Strong initiative, integrity, self-motivation, and results orientation.
• Ability to organize, set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong MS Office experience, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to work in an office environment Monday – Friday 8 AM to 5 PM

Preferred

• Experience with 401(k), MEP, PEP, or PEO-sponsored retirement plans.
• Experience working with retirement plan recordkeeping platforms.
• Payroll processing or payroll integration experience.
• Knowledge of retirement plan operations and participant transaction processing.
• ASPPA, NIPA, or similar retirement industry designation or willingness to pursue professional development.
