Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Line Cook role located at the Mountain State Brewing Co. brewpub in Morgantown, WV. The Line Cook will prepare and cook menu items, with a primary focus on wood-fired artisan flatbread pizzas and related offerings, following established recipes and presentation standards. Daily responsibilities include setting up and stocking stations, executing food orders during service, maintaining food safety and sanitation practices, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. The role also involves collaborating with other kitchen team members, communicating with front-of-house staff during busy service periods, and assisting with prep work such as chopping, portioning, and sauce preparation. The Line Cook is expected to support a positive team environment and contribute to an efficient, consistent guest experience. Qualifications Professional kitchen experience, preferably as a line cook or prep cook in a high-volume or similar casual dining environment. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and station setup, with the ability to follow standardized recipes and portion controls. Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and cleaning procedures. Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple tickets, and maintain attention to detail during busy service times. Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability, including punctuality and a willingness to assist other team members as needed. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
