NCS is seeking an Account Executive to drive growth for our Security Division in Houston. This role focuses on selling and implementing integrated security solutions — including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems — across markets such as commercial, education, government, healthcare, industrial, and transportation. The position is designed to support NCS’s already established AV and Structured Cabling business by expanding our security offerings to new and existing clients. You will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and needs assessment to contract negotiation and project delivery, working closely with our engineering and project management teams. About NCS Security Division NCS designs and delivers integrated security systems for a wide range of industries. We partner with some of the most trusted names in the business — Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Bosch, Axis, and Hanwha — to provide best-in-class security solutions tailored to each client. Key Responsibilities Drive New Business: Identify and pursue opportunities across Houston, develop account plans, and exceed sales quotas selling integrated security solutions (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection). Manage Client Relationships: Act as a trusted advisor, build relationships with decision-makers, and provide ongoing support to ensure satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities. Consultative Selling: Conduct site assessments, design tailored security solutions using Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Bosch, Axis, and Hanwha, and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals. Collaborate for Success: Work with engineering, estimators, project managers, and partners to implement solutions and integrate cutting-edge technology. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven success in B2B security or technology sales, with a focus on integrated security systems . Familiarity with access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems. Technical aptitude, with a general understanding of PCs, networks, and databases. Strong sales skills, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to develop strategic account plans and understand client business needs. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools. Willingness to travel locally for client meetings and industry events. As an Account Executive at NCS, your day begins with a balance of nurturing relationships and seeking new opportunities. You start by checking in with your existing customers, addressing their needs, and identifying ways to grow their business with NCS’s solutions. These relationships are built on trust and consistent service, ensuring that your customers see you as their go-to partner, making competitors an afterthought. From there, you step into the field, where you’ll spend 60-75% of your time. Whether it’s meeting face-to-face with general contractors, consultants, or IT management at individual customer organizations, you’re constantly building connections and uncovering opportunities for growth. Some days involve cold calling to introduce NCS to new prospects or setting up appointments to share how our solutions can transform their projects. Other days, you’re partnering with channel vendors or presenting the NCS story alongside vendors to key stakeholders—not through a slide deck but through meaningful conversations that resonate. Each project you secure is a team effort. You’ll work closely with the estimating group to lay out the competition, strategize with operations on timelines, and package a winning proposal. Your collaboration doesn’t just win deals– it ensures every project is delivered with excellence. Our sales cycle typically spans 3-6 months and deals range from $25,000 to $250,000, with the occasional high-impact deal reaching into the millions. This variety ensures that no two deals—or days—are the same. This entrepreneurial spirit is the foundation of your success—each decision, action, and relationship is a reflection of your ability to take charge and drive results. While there is a high level of autonomy, success here requires someone who knows how to partner well with others, both internally and externally. This role demands someone who isn’t afraid to cold call, knock on doors, and turn strangers into long-term relationships which means you’ll have to bring a relentless “do whatever it takes” kind of intrinsic motivation, not just for yourself but for your customers and the company.
