General Responsibilities

Payroll Processing (U.S. & Canada)

Execute semi-monthly payroll in UKG for approximately 232 employees across three US pay groups and one Canadian pay group (approximately 230 employees in the US and 2 in Canada). Validate earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes. Perform pre- and post-payroll audits to ensure accuracy. Manage off-cycle and special payments (bonuses, corrections, terminations). Administer payroll garnishments, levies, and other statutory deductions in compliance with regulations Vendor Coordination & Oversight

Act as primary liaison with payroll vendors (Sability, UKG), supporting payroll operations. Coordinate issue resolution and manage escalations. Validate vendor outputs against internal payroll data and expectations Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations. Review and respond to payroll tax notices and agency correspondence, coordinating with UKG and internal partners as needed. Conduct payroll tax filings and year-end activities (W-2s, T4s). Support internal and external audits and maintain payroll documentation Data Management in UKG

Maintain payroll data integrity within UKG. Partner with HR/HRIS on employee lifecycle changes impacting payroll (hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions). Support minor payroll system configuration improvements Internal Stakeholder Support

Serve as payroll SME for HR, Finance, and employees. Respond to payroll-related inquiries with accuracy and timeliness. Partner with Finance on journal entries, G/L reconciliations, and reporting Process Improvement

Identify gaps in payroll processes and ownership. Recommend practical improvements within the current operating model (Sability vs. UKG managed services). Support the evaluation of the future payroll operating model

Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor's degree or comparable training in Payroll and 4+ years of Payroll Processing experience. Hands-on experience processing payroll in UKG. Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll processing and compliance. Experience partnering with outsourced payroll vendors. Ability to work independently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential payroll data

Skills and Competencies

Experience with UKG Workforce Management (WFM). Exposure to Canadian payroll processing and compliance. Experience in global or multi-entity environments. Familiarity with HRIS and payroll integrations. Experience driving payroll process improvements

Working Model

20–25 hours per week. Workload aligned with semi-monthly payroll cycles. Flexible schedule with required availability during payroll processing. Potential for increased hours during year-end or system changes
