About the roleThe Director, Software Engineering provides technical and organizational leadership for one or more strategic software products and platforms that support TeleTracking’s mission of improving access to care and optimizing healthcare operations. This role is accountable for engineering execution, software architecture, operational excellence, talent development, and cross-functional delivery.The Director partners closely with Product Management, Architecture, Customer Success, Clinical Operations, and Executive Leadership to ensure technology investments deliver measurable customer and business outcomes. While responsible for leading and growing a team of engineers, this role remains actively engaged in technical decision-making, architecture reviews, engineering best practices, and delivery execution.This position has end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery for assigned products and platforms, including technical strategy, resource management, roadmap execution, operational health, and continuous improvement initiatives.What you will doLead and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development planning.Provide technical leadership through participation in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering decision-making.Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, prioritize investments, and deliver customer-focused solutions.Establish engineering standards, development practices, and operational processes that promote scalability, maintainability, security, and reliability.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering effectiveness, software quality, operational excellence, and delivery predictability.Develop and maintain key engineering, delivery, reliability, and operational metrics to measure team and platform performance.Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence.Collaborate across Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Clinical Operations, and Executive Leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.Represent Engineering in customer discussions, escalations, strategic initiatives, and executive planning activities as needed.Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, and AI-assisted software development capabilities.What we look forExperience leading software engineering teams responsible for delivering enterprise-scale software applications and platforms.Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, microservices, APIs, and modern software development practices.Experience operating software in cloud-based production environments with responsibility for reliability, scalability, observability, and security.Experience leading technical design reviews and guiding architecture decisions across complex systems.Experience partnering with Product Management and business stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical strategies and execution plans.Experience building, coaching, and developing engineering talent.Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.Experience with Java, C#, Scala, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.Preferred experience in healthcare technology, HL7, FHIR, patient flow, or healthcare operations.Strong understanding of software development methodologies, engineering life cycles, and organizational scaling practices.Ability to translate business strategy into technical direction and executable engineering plans.Ability to influence senior leadership and drive outcomes through collaboration.Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (required).Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.BenefitsEmployee Medical/dental/vision premiums paid 100% - family members without coverage Medical 100% - small cost for dependents on dental and vision, which start from day one!Life and AD&DFlexible Spending Accounts: Medical, Dependent Care, and Transportation401 (k) Retirement SavingsTuition ReimbursementMilitary Paid Leave (up to 6 months of base salary while on military leave)Paid Time OffPaid parental leaveDisclaimer:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
