About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in MedSurg/Telemetry required. License: RN - Registered Nurse License required. Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support, ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, NIHSS - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale required. Must-Have: - 2 years of recent relevant experience. - Previous experience with electronic health record systems. - Demonstrated skills in managing a variety of patient care tasks. Description: Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care. Includes direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience. Conducts patient and family assessments encompassing physiological, spiritual, and emotional areas. Collaborates and communicates with the healthcare team to interpret, adjust, and coordinate daily patient care plans to ensure continuity of care. Partners with peers and other healthcare providers to streamline patient workflow, improve patient outcomes, and provide the highest quality of care. Provides competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in accordance with unit policies and nursing standards. Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for each patient and their families. Delegates tasks appropriately based on licensure, educational preparation, and individual capability. Communicates and explains treatments to patients and families clearly and collaboratively. Maintains mindfulness in delivering individualized care and in communication with patients and families, focusing on safety. Monitors patient care interventions, assesses therapies, evaluates outcomes, and intervenes as warranted. Conducts ongoing education for patients and their families to ensure optimal patient care from admission through transitions of care. Documents each patient’s response to the plan of care and adjusts the plan as needed. Reports safety or compliance concerns via appropriate channels. Develops, implements, and documents teaching and transition planning that includes the patient/family in care for identified health needs. Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff and helps orient them to the unit as requested. Demonstrated general knowledge and competence regarding nursing theories, concepts, and practices. Possesses written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally. Time management and organizational skills are essential to prioritize patient care. Ability to communicate and engage team members, patients, and families in stressful situations. Builds collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve objectives. Ensures the privacy of each patient’s protected health information. Physical demands, mental components, visual activities, and working conditions will be consistent with nursing practice.
