# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** October 12, 2026 **Location:** Salem, Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Rotating 12-hour shifts; includes weekend rotation (3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule: Fridays and Saturdays); holiday coverage required**Highlights:** - 8-bed Freestanding Emergency Department with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios- Work with state-of-the-art equipment including GE Monitors, Small Ventilator, Baxter Pumps, and Zoll Defibrillators- Meditech EMR system; full medication scanning for every patient- Diverse skill set utilized: independent IV placement, EKG administration, medication mixing, and comprehensive patient assessments- Collaborative team of 23 RNs with structured shift coverage- No floating required – dedicated ED assignment**Requirements:** - Active Virginia RN license or compact state license- Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required- Previous Emergency Department experience required- Independent IV skills, EKG interpretation, and advanced assessment skills required- Experience in Freestanding ED settings preferred- Independent pharmacy drug mixing experience (e.g., TPA, KCentra) preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work in a specialized freestanding emergency setting where you can develop advanced clinical skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
