Our mission is to be uncompromising in pushing boundaries of component design and manufacturing for every OEM partner.This key position is responsible for coordinating and executing the day-to-day shipping activities while serving as a member of the Inventory Control Team. Employee will perform clerical and physical activities while handling different types of materials daily.Job DescriptionServe as primary point of contact and coordinate daily, outbound shipmentsSchedule shipments with customers and logistic carriers to meet established deadlinesCoordinate with Engineering, Production, Sales and Accounting regarding shipping requirementsEnsure products are properly packaged, labeled and prepared for shipment based on product, customer and logistic carrier's specificationsPrepare and verify all shipping documents as per company policies and customer requirementsTrack shipments and investigate transportation issues such as delays, damages and shortagesCommunicate shipping issues with appropriate team members immediatelyMaintain organized and accurate shipping records in all systemsOperate material-moving equipment including forklift, pallet jacks and hand truckAssists with the preparation of products and equipment for shippingProcess and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, as neededPack, unpack, and label stock items and containers using identification tag or other labeling equipmentReceive and prepare orders, as necessaryDistribute materials to fellow employees, as neededConfer with other team members regarding procurement and stock availabilityRegularly inspect stock items for quantity, wear or defectsCleans maintains and organizes supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas to ensure ready access and compliance to safety regulationsAssist with building maintenance, as necessaryFollow all VJX and OSHA workplace safety requirements and policiesSafety Sensitive PositionEssential SkillsMust be able to repetitively lift, move, place, pack and unpack materials up to 50 pounds alone and heavier with assistanceHS Diploma or equivalentMinimum two (2) years in a manufacturing environment working in a shipping capacityMust possess a valid, clean drivers' license for a minimum of five (5) yearsMust be able to work independently and as a strong team player, capable of fostering and thriving in a close knit, cross functional team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills (English)Dexterity to adjust, repair, assemble, and prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items, according to specifications or customer requirementsAbility to work within an ERP systemKnowledge of MS Office SuiteWorking knowledge of logistic carriers' processes and proceduresMust be reliable with the ability to work overtime as neededAbility to multi-task, prioritize and anticipate work needs in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on quality, accuracy and timelinessWill need to successfully pass a personal background check and drug screeningsNon-Essential SkillsExperience working in a research and development environmentKnowledge of Receiving FunctionKnowledge of Global Shop Solutions (GSS)Physical & Mental DemandsRegularly required to sit, walk, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, crouch and stand within an industrial environmentWill need to repeatedly use hands and fingers to operate basic office equipment and operate hand and power tools standard to a production environmentExpected to effectively communicate in person, on phone, via email and other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basisResponsibilities will require the lifting, moving, staging, placing, packing and unpacking of materials up to 50 pounds alone and heavier with assistanceVision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusMust be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe mannerMay be asked to travel locally by carOn a regular basis, will be required to:use written and oral communication skillsread and interpret data, information and documentsbe creative, make judgements, use reasoning and make decisionsobserve and interpret situationslearn and apply new information or skillsperform detailed work on multiple, concurrent taskswork under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptionsinteract with internal and external customers holding positions from a wide array of disciplines and organizational hierarchy levelsMay need to communicate and effectively manage dissatisfied or frustrated customers and/or interface with difficult/demanding individualsThis job description is not all inclusive and is subject to change at any time.
