Project Manager 2-Substation

Overview The Project Manager II is responsible for on‑time delivery of all assigned projects, ensuring quality workmanship for the client and efficient utilization of resources to enhance ROI. Primary responsibilities include completing projects within scope, schedule, quality and cost parameters, representing the company with clients, ensuring safety, protecting company assets and complying with contractual requirements. Responsibilities Coordinate and direct project workflow for internal and external initiatives with all stakeholders. Communicate project status to management and stakeholders. Develop project specifications and implement practices to achieve objectives. Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive and proprietary information. Maintain expected levels of quality control. Meet all project schedules. Utilize project resources efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Proactively identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze issues, develop alternatives and choose optimal approaches. Understand scope of work and contract requirements. Support or conduct formal presentations to clients and/or management. Maintain consistent communication with management on key project issues and client concerns. Demonstrate command of schedule goals and key milestones. Build client confidence and nurture positive client relationships. Serve as a Proposal Manager for medium‑to‑large projects. Travel to customer offices and job sites as required. Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing and state requirements. Support procurement of engineered items in conjunction with procurement manager. Coordinate development of work‑hour estimates and transfer information to Project Controls. Conduct internal meetings with department leads/managers and external meetings with client and stakeholders. Work with Business Development to develop proposals and present company capabilities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline required. Understanding of substation electrical engineering, transmission line engineering or related experience in the energy industry. Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, construction, project controls, project management or procurement. Proven performance as a Project Manager on complex projects. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings. Basic algebra and geometry; compute rates, ratios, percentages; draw and interpret spreadsheets. Clear understanding of problem definition, data collection, establishment of facts and drawing valid conclusions. Excellent organizational, planning, negotiating and decision‑making skills. Leadership, motivation, vision and direction to project team. Strategic thinking and business improvement identification. Strong verbal and written communication with senior management, clients and colleagues. High energy, capability to work in fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
