This is a time limited position. Job Area: Central Region: Bolivar, Sunflower, Leflore, Carroll, Montogomery, Washington, Humphreys, Holmes, Attala counties. Other counties as needed.

Job Duties:

• Provide oversight for healthcare providers (private and health departments) enrolled in the Vaccine for Children (VFC) program to ensure compliance with the VFC program and MSDH Immunization Program requirements which includes, but is not limited to, the proper storage and handling, administration, accountability, and management of state and federally funded vaccines.
• Conduct VFC compliance site visits and unannounced storage and handling visits per program requirements.
• Provide training to enrolled providers and staff through on-site visits and as needed.
• Monitor vaccine accountability and wastage for enrolled providers and address findings with providers.
• Approve vaccine orders placed by county health departments in the assigned area.
• Provide resources and answer questions related to immunizations for providers and the community in the assigned area.

Possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with others. Effectively handle difficult situations tactfully and professionally. Exercise appropriate independence in decision making within their limits using sound reasoning and knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Accept responsibility for implementation of procedures when applicable. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse and 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
