Security Guard

Security Guard Reports to: Security Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Retail Operations / Security Location: St. Peters, MO Pay Range: $16.00/hour Position Summary: The Security Guard at Mint Cannabis plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our team members, patients/customers, and retail operations. This position is responsible for monitoring activity on-site, enforcing security policies, and maintaining a welcoming but secure environment for all guests and staff. The ideal candidate is observant, calm under pressure, and committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism. Responsibilities: Conduct routine patrols of the premises to deter theft, monitor behavior, and report suspicious activity Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and guests enter secure areas Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, including basic first aid if required Maintain clear and accurate incident reports, security logs, and shift summaries Enforce company policies and compliance regulations to ensure a safe environment Deliver professional customer service by assisting patients, customers, and employees with information, directions, or support Coordinate with management and local authorities when necessary during incidents or emergencies Support daily operations by helping with crowd control, ID verification, and line management during peak hours Supervisory Responsibilities: None Qualifications: 1+ year of professional security experience preferred Strong observational and decision-making skills Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or emergency situations Must be comfortable enforcing policies and protocols consistently and respectfully Must be at least 21 years of age Valid state-issued identification High school diploma or equivalent required Education and Certifications: High school diploma or GED required Formal security training or certification is a plus but not required Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs Must be able to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods Ability to travel between nearby store locations as needed Work Environment: On-site, retail dispensary environment High customer traffic with potential for exposure to loud environments, outdoor temperatures, and long periods on foot Schedule varies and may include weekends, holidays, and night shifts Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required between local Mint Cannabis locations Equal Opportunity Employer Statement: Mint Cannabis is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
