Role Overview We are seeking a Senior SAP GTS Consultant with strong expertise in Trade Preference in addition to Compliance Management and Customs processes. This role will design and implement compliant, efficient global trade capabilities that support preferential trade agreement qualification, customs execution, and export/import compliance within Aerospace & Defense environments. Core Focus Areas Compliance Management including SPL screening, embargo checks, and export control support. Customs Management including import/export declaration support and broker-facing process integration. Trade Preference and free trade agreement qualification. Trade master data governance including origin, tariff classification, preference eligibility, and supplier solicitation data. Process design aligned to audit, regulatory, and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead design and configuration of SAP GTS Trade Preference processes, including product qualification, bill of material analysis, vendor solicitation, and agreement determination. Configure and support related Compliance Management and Customs Management capabilities. Define data models and governance for country of origin, HS / HTS classification, preference indicators, and supplier declarations. Work with supply chain, procurement, customs, trade compliance, and finance stakeholders to define operating procedures and control points. Support integration with SAP S/4HANA and external customs / broker processes where applicable. Drive fit-to-standard decisions, solution documentation, testing, cutover readiness, and hypercare support. Identify opportunities for automation, reporting, and control improvement across trade preference and customs operations. SAP Transformation Delivery & Ways of Working Participate in SAP S/4HANA-enabled transformation delivery across the full lifecycle (Client, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Hypercare / Run) aligned to SAP Activate methodology. Operate effectively in hybrid Agile delivery models, combining sprint-based execution with milestone-driven governance. Use Jira (or similar tools) for backlog management, user stories, sprint planning, defect tracking, and reporting. Collaborate across functional, technical, data, integration, security, and compliance teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes. Support test cycles, cutover planning, hypercare stabilization, issue triage, and transition to support. Required Skills & Experience 5‑10+ years of SAP GTS implementation and/or support experience. Experience in regulated environments, preferably Aerospace & Defense, defense contractors, or export-controlled operations. Strong integration experience with SAP S/4HANA or ECC, including SD, MM, and relevant interface patterns. Ability to lead workshops, translate regulatory/business requirements into system design, and support audit-ready delivery. Strong verbal and written communication skills with business, legal, compliance, and IT stakeholders. Deep experience in SAP GTS Trade Preference, including qualification logic, supplier solicitation, and declaration management. Strong experience in SAP GTS Compliance Management and Customs Management. Understanding of preferential trade agreements, country of origin concepts, and tariff / customs data structures. Experience supporting business process design, data governance, and operational reporting in global trade environments. Nice-to-Have Experience in A&D supply chains with complex import/export and sourcing footprints. Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and defense-compliance overlays. Exposure to SAP TM, EWM, or broader supply chain integration in S/4HANA. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Information Systems, International Business, Compliance, or related field. SAP GTS certification preferred.
