Registered Nurse - PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
This is a 12-week contract position.
Rotating schedule including Night shifts (3x12-Hour from 19:00 - 07:00) and Day shifts (3x12-Hour from 07:30 - 19:30). Weekend and holiday shifts are required.
The PACU Main provides specialized peri-anesthesia care 24/7 for patients across the lifespan and spectrum of acuity. Nurses deliver vigilant pre and post-operative care to both inpatient and outpatient populations undergoing scheduled or emergency surgeries.
Responsibilities:
- Administer care to patients recovering from anesthesia.
- Monitor vital signs and patient status during recovery.
- Manage airway and ventilation for ventilated patients.
- Administer intravenous medications and blood products as needed.
- Provide education and discharge instructions to patients and families.
- Collaborate with surgical and medical teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 2 years of strong ICU experience is required.
- Active RN license in the state of Maryland or compact state required.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS preferred; PALS is a plus.
- Previous charge experience is required.
- Familiarity with Epic charting system is preferred.
