Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized General Accounting Intern to support the day-to-day activities of the accounting team. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience with general accounting processes, including account reconciliations, journal entry support, financial data review, and maintaining accounting documentation. This is a part-time, in-person, role located in Greeley. Average working hours will be 15-20 a week between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations

• Support the preparation and entry of journal entries

• Review accounting transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding

• Assist with researching and resolving account discrepancies

• Perform basic data entry and financial analysis as needed

• Assist with month-end accounting and closing activities

• Organize and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation

• Assist with gathering documentation for internal and external audits

• Support special accounting projects and financial reporting as needed

• Provide general clerical and administrative support to the accounting team

• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and company information

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good organizational and time management skills

• Ability to follow established processes and meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

Preferred (Not Required):

• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or office experience

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, sorting, and filtering

Physical Requirements

Moderate Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.

• Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc.

• Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer.

• The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.

• Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas.

• The person in this position regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen.

• Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements.

• Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights.

• Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch.

• Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist.

• Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.

• Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures

• Frequently exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Education

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree related to accounting at an accredited university.

Compensation Data (Colorado Only)

Hourly Wage: $21.00 USD
