Position Summary


The Structural Fabricator Fitter-Welder is responsible for interpreting structural drawings, performing layout and fit-up activities, and fabricating structural steel components to project specifications. This role requires strong fabrication and welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of structural fabrication experience strongly preferred
• Hands-on fabrication welding experience required
• FCAW welding experience required
• Must successfully complete a weld test to be considered for employment
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings
• Solid layout, measuring, and fit-up skills
• Safety-focused with a strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements
• Perform layout and fit-up of structural steel components, including beams, columns, braces, and connections
• Operate welding equipment using FCAW and other welding processes including GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW, as required
• Utilize flame-cutting equipment and fabrication tools such as brakes, shears, and presses
• Repair worn or damaged structural components through reinforcement or replacement material installation
• Maintain compliance with all safety policies and procedures
• Contribute to a clean, organized, and productive work environment
• Report to work on time and prepared to meet production goals
• Perform additional duties as assigned
