Previous security system experience is not required. We will train the right candidate.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Entry-Level Security Systems Technician / Installer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position where you will work alongside experienced technicians while learning to install, service, and maintain professional electronic security and low-voltage systems.

You will receive on-the-job training in video surveillance, burglar alarms, electronic access control, fire alarm systems, intercoms, networking, and structured cabling.

As your knowledge and skills develop, you will have opportunities to learn system programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, and service while taking on greater responsibility and advancing within the company.

The ideal candidate does not need previous security industry experience but should be dependable, eager to learn, mechanically inclined, comfortable using hand and power tools, and take pride in completing clean and professional work.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation and service of IP video surveillance (CCTV) systems.
• Assist with the installation and service of burglar alarm systems.
• Assist with commercial fire alarm system installations.
• Assist with the installation of electronic access control and intercom systems.
• Install and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and other low-voltage wiring.
• Learn proper cable routing, termination, labeling, testing, and installation techniques.
• Install cameras, motion detectors, door contacts, keypads, card readers, control panels, network equipment, and other low-voltage devices.
• Assist with the installation and configuration of NVRs, IP cameras, network switches, wireless bridges, and related networking equipment.
• Learn basic IP networking, system programming, and troubleshooting.
• Assist experienced technicians with troubleshooting and service calls.
• Read and follow floor plans, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
• Complete installations according to company standards for quality, appearance, and reliability.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, coworkers, and office staff.
• Properly maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Participate in manufacturer and industry training as provided.

Qualifications:

Previous security-system experience is not required.

• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.

• Willingness to travel to customer locations throughout our service area.

Preferred Experience:

Although previous security industry experience is not required, experience or education in any of the following areas is a plus:

• Low-voltage wiring
• Electrical work
• Construction or skilled trades
• Telecommunications or cable installation
• IT or computer networking
• Electronics
• Audio/video installation
• CCTV or security systems
• Automotive or other mechanical/technical work
• Trade school, BOCES, vocational, electrical, electronics, or networking programs

Candidates with previous hands-on experience using tools, running wire, working in construction, or performing other mechanical or technical work are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Reliable transportation to our Montrose, NY office.
• Willingness to travel throughout Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, New York City, and surrounding areas.
• Willingness to learn and participate in company and manufacturer training.
