Resident EngineerThe Resident Engineer serves as the on-site technical authority responsible for administering and overseeing public infrastructure construction projects for the Flood Control District. In this role, you will provide professional engineering expertise, direct field inspection activities, problem solve, and facilitate communication among contractors, consultants, project managers, and internal and external stakeholders.This position ensures that all construction activities comply with contract documents, engineering standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements, while delivering the project on time and cost-effectively. The Resident Engineer promotes safety, maintains project quality, and protects public resources through diligent oversight, accurate documentation, and proactive problem-solving.Flood Control? Provide construction oversight, administration, and management duties with full accountability for all aspects of projects. This includes providing guidance and direction to contractors, resolving construction issues and problems at the lowest level, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirementsPerform in-house reviews of construction plans and specifications, participate in constructability reviews, and prepare reports documenting construction activities and progressUse engineering knowledge to identify and resolve construction problems within the context of the plans and specifications.
