LifeGift is currently looking for an on-site Organ Placement Specialist who will work collaboratively with all departments within LifeGift, HLA laboratories, and other OPOs and transplant programs to allocate organs for transplantation and research. Do you possess the attributes to be a successful Organ Placement Specialist and perform the following essential functions? Responsibilities Coordinates multiple levels of the allocation of organs for transplant or research according to established LifeGift and OPTN policies. Responsible for ensuring timely continuation of the allocation process and maintains logistical oversight of organs for transplant or research that are awaiting final disposition. Relays accurate and timely donor medical information from LifeGift EMR system or from the UNET Donor Net system to transplant surgeons and transplant center personnel to facilitate organ placement. Facilitate the transportation and laboratory notification for blood and tissue samples sent for donor testing as well as the transportation of recovered organs when necessary. Do you have the education and experience to be an Organ Placement Specialist? Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with biology/pre‑med/nursing/allied health courses or allied health work experience, required. Three to five years prior clinical experience in organ procurement and/or transplantation, preferred. As a condition of employment, you must be able to attain Hospital Badge and EMR Access from all of the LifeGift Hospital Partners. This is a shift role working on-site at our facility.
