We’re seeking motivated Registered Nurses to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in our Emergency Department (ED). Location Suffolk, VA Work Shift Second (Evenings) Hours Full Time 11am-11pm About the Hospital Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is a 175-bed, full-service community hospital known for its compassionate, high-quality care and strong sense of teamwork. About the Unit Emergency Department (ED) with 37 beds, including a 5-bed Behavioral Health Safe Suite. We treat approximately 53,000 visits annually (about 150 per day). The team includes emergency nurses, physicians, and technicians, working in a fast-paced environment with advanced technology and rapid response protocols. Responsibilities The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care, following the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination). The RN meets standards of professional performance: ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN provides care across the spectrum—from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies—while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Education RN-Associate’s Degree RN-Bachelor’s Degree RN-Diploma RN-Master’s Degree License / Certification Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire ACLS and PALS or ENPC within one year of hire Experience No new graduate RNs considered. Minimum 6 months RN experience in an acute care setting such as ER, ICU, Intermediate Care Unit, or Recovery Room. Acute care experience in other units may be considered.
