Generator Field Service Technician, C-Level

Location: Greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey Schedule: Full time, shared on-call rotation Pay: $30.00 to $36.00 per hour, plus company vehicle

LaTrae Consulting Group is recruiting field service technicians for a growing power generation service company in the area. Privately held, long established in the Northeast standby power market, and one of the few service companies in the region that runs its own in-house technician training program instead of poaching everyone else's.

These are added seats, not backfills. New customer work is landing now and they are building headcount to cover it. Direct hire, on their payroll, from day one.

The seat

If you turn wrenches on diesel, wire panels, or came out of a military maintenance shop, you already have most of what this takes. They teach the generator side. What you cannot fake is mechanical and electrical fundamentals, and if you have those, this is a real step up in pay and in what you will know five years from now.

The Philadelphia territory is pharma, health systems, water treatment, and a data center footprint that keeps growing. Work stays inside about 90 minutes of the metro, so you are home at night.

What you'll be doing

• Preventive maintenance on standby generator systems up to 350kW: oil, filters, coolant, belts, batteries, charging system checks
• Basic repairs and diagnostics, working toward advanced troubleshooting
• Support start-ups, load bank testing, and larger jobs alongside B and A level techs
• Complete and submit your own work orders
• Shared on-call rotation

What you bring

• 0 to 3 years on generators, or a trade background in diesel, automotive, marine, construction equipment, electrical work, or military maintenance
• Preventive maintenance you have performed on your own: oil, filters, coolant, belts, batteries
• Basic electrical: multimeter use, continuity, voltage checks
• Able to read a wiring diagram, or ready to learn how
• Trade school, an apprenticeship, or military technical training is a plus
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
• Able to take a shared on-call rotation
