Step into a dynamic educational environment near Hilton Head Island, where your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter will make a meaningful impact for students in need. Several contract opportunities are available for skilled interpreters to support students across multiple local schools for the 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll be part of a collaborative team working to foster accessibility and inclusion from August through May.

In this role, you will be placed at one of several schools, including high schools and a K-8 academy, serving students in academic and extracurricular settings. With a steady weekly schedule, you’ll contribute to the success and confidence of your assigned students by enabling effective communication and participation in all aspects of school life.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure.
• Minimum 3.5 EIPA score.
• Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably within K-12 schools.
• Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and adeptness bridging communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and staff.
• Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and student advocacy.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate, impartial interpretation services during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Collaborate with educators and school personnel to support individualized student needs.
• Assist in ensuring equal access to curriculum, programs, and school communications.
• Maintain professionalism and uphold standards set by school and district guidelines.
