As a System Integration Engineer focusing on autonomous mining trucks, you’ll collaborate with team members to develop new autonomous truck models and features that provide critical value to our customers. Every day you will work with your team to solve real world problems by selecting the right approach and bringing those solutions to production. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can’t wait for you to join the team!ResponsibilitiesDesign system architectures for autonomy systems deployed on an ecosystem of truck modelsDefinition of electronic interfaces and electronic system designManage I/O requirements for machine control hardware and other autonomy-related devicesCollaborate with partner teams to create hardware solutions that meet business and technical requirements.Coordinate and execute logistics to progress hardware system changes through validation environments, field trials, and into production.System troubleshooting and issue resolution.What you will have: Technical Excellence: Knowledge of and experience with autonomous or robotics technology and associated application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of product design; ability to convert market requirements into the product design.Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planningTop candidates will have: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or PhD in an accredited Robotics, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related degreeStrong collaboration and organization skills.Ability to contribute to multiple complex projects, meeting timelines and deliverablesStrong foundation in mathematics and engineering fundamentalsSystem Engineering experience in autonomy, robotics, or related industriesAdditional Details:This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Mossville, IL office.Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.Visa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.#LISummary Pay Range:$97,530.00 - $158,480.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
