This opportunity is for a pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge at a retail pharmacy. The role involves overseeing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and managing a competent pharmacy team.

Location: Prophetstown, IL

Job Type: 13-week contract to hire (travelers considered while local candidate search is underway)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Software: McKesson Enterprise

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily pharmacy activities and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Supervise, train, and manage pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians.
• Review and verify prescriptions to guarantee accuracy and patient safety.
• Handle medication inventory, controlled substances, and pharmacy documentation.
• Develop and enforce pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues and enhance patient care.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy workflow environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Illinois.
• Proven experience in pharmacy management or as Pharmacist in Charge.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise staff effectively.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing pharmacy operations.
• Familiarity with McKesson Enterprise software is a plus.
