Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

RN – Intermediate Critical Care Unit

Schedule - Shift: 12-hr Nights, 18:45–07:15 - Hours offered: up to 36 hrs/week - Weekend requirement: at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Assignment Details - Ratio: 1:4 (unit); Med-Surg float ratio 1:6 - Orientation: 36 hours

Requirements - Minimum 2 years RN experience - Recent ICU experience required - Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS (BLS) - Preferred certification: NIHSS

Key clinical skills: - Recent ICU/stepdown clinical experience - Cardiac telemetry monitoring - IV starts, peripheral/PICC/central line care basics - Titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips - Use of rapid response/code teams - Feeding tube care/management - Heparin protocols, insulin/IV protocols - PCA, CVA/stroke care - Preferred: ventilator/ventilated patient care, wound care/Wound VAC

Roles & Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive nursing care to intermediate critical care patients. - Monitor and assess patient conditions, making timely interventions. - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapies. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. - Document all patient interactions and care in the electronic health record system. - Participate actively in rapid response and code situations as needed.
