Assistant Project Manager

Assistant Project Manager for restoration and repair projects with Contracting Specialists DC, LLC. Location: College Park, MD Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually Essential Duties & Responsibilities Support Project Managers in the day‑to‑day management of concrete and masonry restoration projects. Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation. Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to gather technical data and ensure compliance with project specifications. Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, quality assurance, and adherence to safety protocols. Track project materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain efficient workflow. Assist in preparing estimates, take‑offs, and proposals during the pre‑construction phase. Document project updates, change orders, and issues that arise during construction. Help ensure that all work meets historical preservation standards and local building codes. Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow‑up actions. Collaborate with field personnel to resolve technical issues and support effective communication between the field and office. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. 3+ years of relevant experience in construction, preferably in concrete restoration, historic masonry, or similar specialties. Familiarity with restoration techniques, materials, and historical preservation guidelines is preferred. Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and historical documents. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Ability to work on‑site as needed and travel to project locations. Additional Qualifying Factors Pass a pre‑employment drug screening (post‑accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. Ability to obtain appropriate clearance levels required for the contract and access to military installations, if applicable. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Requires maneuvering around work sites, bending, stooping, walking or standing for prolonged periods, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including hard hats, steel‑toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Exposure to inclement weather, outdoor conditions, fumes, and loud noise is common.
