About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS from AHA required Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred - EPIC experience is a bonus Description: This position requires a competent nurse who practices independently in a clinical setting. You will provide both routine and complex care, demonstrating the ability to manage long-range goals. You will continue to develop your ability to cope with and manage clinical nursing contingencies. You will make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers for better management of clinical situations. Responsibilities include meeting expectations of applicable competencies such as Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. In accordance with nursing standards, you will utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of assigned patients. You will address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to your level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, you will administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. You will document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. You will assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, while identifying issues and resources. Weekend shifts may be required based on staffing needs. There is no on-call requirement. Nurse-to-patient ratio will be 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing. Temporary-to-permanent positions may be available.
