Staff Nurse In Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The Staff Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. They assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient care with a focus on family-centered approaches for individuals or groups of patients. Responsibilities include delivering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety care across age groups, demonstrating leadership, and performing patient-centered, quality improvement, safety, and evidence-based practices. The role involves supporting provider staff, fostering collaboration, and utilizing informatics and technology systems. Nurses may be temporarily assigned within the hospital based on patient needs and are expected to mentor and precept new staff members. Key skills include strong communication, organizational ability, teamwork, and customer service. Qualifications encompass a BSN (or obtaining one within five years), RN licensure in Ohio, BLS certification, and at least one year of healthcare experience, with pediatric cardiac critical care experience preferred. Experience with electronic medical records and healthcare software is advantageous. The role requires onsite presence, full-time hours, and the ability to work nights.
