Commercial HVAC Lead Installer

Miller HVAC Service, Inc. is a family-owned and operated commercial and industrial HVAC company serving the South Carolina Upstate. We are looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Lead Installer to join our team full-time. This is a hands-on installation position, not a supervisory-only role. The Lead Installer will work in the field alongside the installation team and is expected to actively perform HVAC installation work while helping lead the crew and maintain the quality and pace of the job. The Lead Installer will work closely with our Field Superintendent, who also takes an active, hands‑on role in the field, to coordinate installation activities, manpower, materials, project requirements, and job progress. We are looking for someone who can lead by example; someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for the work while also being directly involved in getting it done. Responsibilities As a Lead Installer, you will: Work hands‑on alongside the installation crew to complete commercial and industrial HVAC projects Install commercial and industrial HVAC equipment and systems Complete HVAC renovations, replacements, upfits, and installation projects Lay out, install, modify, and connect ductwork and HVAC equipment Install, insulate, seal, and finish duct systems Perform equipment setting, piping, venting, and related HVAC installation work Read and work from mechanical drawings, plans, and project specifications Work closely with the Field Superintendent to coordinate daily field activities and keep projects progressing on schedule Communicate manpower, material, equipment, and jobsite needs to the Field Superintendent Lead by example and provide direction, guidance, and training to other installation team members Monitor the quality and progress of the crew's work Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite Ensure work is completed safely and meets Miller HVAC's workmanship standards Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades Qualifications Required: 5+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience Experience installing ductwork Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and plans Ability to lead by example while working alongside an installation crew Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills Ability to safely work from ladders, lifts, rooftops, and elevated work areas Ability to safely work around and install overhead equipment Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Dependable, professional, and able to work independently when required Preferred Previous experience as a Lead Installer, Foreman, or similar crew‑lead position Commercial and industrial equipment replacement and upfit experience Experience with rooftop units, split systems, packaged equipment, and other commercial HVAC systems OSHA, lift, EPA, or other applicable industry certifications What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Bonus opportunities Health insurance Ancillary and supplemental insurance options 401(k) with company matching Paid vacation Paid holidays Company phone and iPad Company vehicle and fuel card Year‑round work Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Stable employment with an established, family‑owned commercial HVAC company Schedule Full‑time Monday‑Thursday (10 hour shifts) Additional hours/overtime may be available or required depending on project needs We're looking for an experienced installer who takes pride in working with their hands and leading from the field.
