Quality Control Analyst II – Rensselaer, NY – Nights Position Overview The Quality Control Analyst II is responsible for performing routine and non‑routine analytical chemistry assays of raw materials, in‑process samples, finished APIs, and stability samples. This role also participates in special projects, method development/transfers, and cleaning study qualifications. Essential Job Duties Perform analytical testing for incoming, in‑process, final products, and stability samples using balances, pipettes, pH meter, UV/Vis spectrophotometer, Total Organic Carbon analyzer, etc. Perform chromatography (HPLC/GC, UPLC) with minimal qualification and training, wet chemistry assays, and analytical chemistry assays. Back up QC analytical instrument maintenance and calibration. Maintain general laboratory equipment, housekeeping, and prepare lab for audits. Assist with QC method qualifications, transfers, and validations. Develop QC methods. Investigate OOS and lab deviations. Provide technical support for shift analysts. Perform cleaning validation studies. Assist with evaluation of new equipment and processes. Review QC data and provide summaries to management. Assist QC management with OOS, deviations, and CAPA investigations. Back up QC analytical sample receipt and processing. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field. Minimum 3–5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience working in a cGMP or GLP pharmaceutical environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision. Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to multi‑task. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions and regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and instrument software. Knowledge of FDA GMPs (21 CFR, 211, 820, 600) and ISO 9001/13485. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision; ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. May encounter wet, humid, mechanical, electrical, and outdoor conditions. Noise level moderate.
