Location: Dallas, TX 75251
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $21.00-$25.00 per hour (pay is dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payment Posting Specialist to join our team in Dallas, TX. This onsite position is responsible for accurately posting payments, reconciling accounts, researching payment discrepancies, and supporting the revenue cycle team to ensure timely and accurate cash application. The ideal candidate has recent healthcare payment posting experience, strong analytical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Post all manual and electronic payments to patient accounts accurately and timely.
• Perform reconciliations to the general ledger and complete month-end cash application procedures.
• Identify patterns of overpayments and communicate findings to appropriate supervisory personnel.
• Investigate and resolve billing errors, inaccurate payments, and posting discrepancies.
• Review insurance remittance advices (ERAs/EOBs) for accuracy.
• Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly cash application deadlines are met.
• Research unidentified payments, recoupments, and unapplied cash to determine the appropriate resolution.
• Notify appropriate personnel of payer trends, payment issues, or recurring problems.
• Coordinate remittance and payment posting issues with the Accounts Receivable team.
• Maintain accurate documentation while adhering to company policies and HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with additional payment posting and revenue cycle duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent payment posting experience in a healthcare, dental, or oral surgery setting.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with practice management or billing systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong verbal communication and professional phone etiquette.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
