Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:

Physical Therapy Assistant will support licensed Physical Therapists in delivering patient-centered rehabilitation services over a 13-week assignment. The role focuses on assisting with treatment sessions, maintaining documentation, and promoting patient progress toward functional goals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Physical Therapists with preparation of treatment plans and patient care setups.
• Perform delegated therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and routine therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor patient response during sessions and report changes in condition or progress.
• Support safe patient handling practices and maintain compliance with infection control procedures.
• Document completed patient treatments and progress notes according to established protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license/credential as required in the state.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercise, and functional mobility.
• Possess strong communication skills for collaborating with patients and the therapy team.
• Follow clinical documentation standards with attention to accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain current CPR certification if required by employer policy.
